At Abby Downs, we do things a little differently.

 

We’re a small, hands-on stable and boutique farm based in Scone, NSW, with a simple focus: the long-term development and wellbeing of every horse in our care. Quality over quantity is our approach, and it shows in the way our horses progress—both on the track and beyond it.

 

Led by Jeremy Gask, a trainer with international experience at the highest levels in both hemispheres, we blend traditional horsemanship with modern methods to get the best out of every horse. From Royal Ascot to Morphettville, and from turf sprinters to stayers and even jumpers, Jeremy has prepared horses to peak across all distances and disciplines.

 

Many of our past performers have gone on to enjoy long, successful careers—a testament to the patient, detail-driven approach that underpins everything we do. We’re proud that so many have retired sound, having raced well into their older years.

 

At home, our setup includes a private sand track, high-speed treadmill, and walk-in-walk-out yards designed to keep horses happy, healthy, and well-conditioned. We rear our own young stock, pre-train for other stables, and always look for ways to innovate while staying true to sound fundamentals.

 

Whether it’s a horse in its first prep or a seasoned campaigner ready to fire first-up, we aim to produce horses that are sound, competitive, and improving all the time.
